1. If you have already downloaded and installed Finale Notepad 2009, go directly to step 4.
2. Go to www.makemusic.com/notepad, click on "Windows" or "Mac" to download NotePad 2009, and then follow the instructions. Beginning in 2009, Finale is charging $9.95 for the NotePad 2009 download. However, Finale NotePad Reader, with lesser features, is a free download, .
3. Install NotePad 2009 on your hard drive.
4. From the list below, download the piece you are working on by clicking on it.
5. Use the playback controls (they look like CD controls) to listen to a playback of your selection.
6. Adjust numbers in the tool bar boxes to set the tempo (try 40 to begin with) and the measure you want to start on (click on the "horn" symbol next to the tempo counter).
7. Play along with either the solo or the accompanied versions as part of your practicing.
